About our animals
We are a comic company but there is nothing comical about the problem we face as millions of animals each year are killed as a result of illegal poaching and habitat loss. We, Xstra, think that you should be aware of this. So next time you are reading our latest issue think about what you are doing to stop this. By purchasing a comic you are saving our animals.
Red Pandas are cute, small animals that need our help. They live in China and the Himalayas but due to the increase of human population their forests are being destroyed. They are killed and their tails are cut to be used as decoration on hats. With 10,000 of them left, their future looks bleak. BUT, with the help of Xstra we can make their population rise. They are amazing creatures that need protecting and all you need to do to help them is to read a comic.
The red wolf or Canis Lupus Rufus, is related to the grey wolf. Unlike the grey wolf the red wolf is critically endangered. Their habitat is in the U.S.A. Almost hunted to extinction for sport, there are fewer than twenty pure red wolves in the wild today. As of 2014 there were 207 captive red wolves at 38 breeding centres. Thanks to these programs about 100 red wolves are now in the wild. But that is not enough! With the help of XSTRA and you, we will help these animals escape extinction.
Red Foxes are native british animals that are being harmed as a result of blood sports (hunting). The Fox and The Hound is a classic disney tale that reflects on the real issues in our country. Some higher class hunters believe that it is right to slaughter these poor animals because of SPORT! But the people in Xstra think that sport is Football, Rugby and Basketball not the murder of animals like these. Xstra is now working on a petition called Ban The Blood, Save The Foxes.
The name orangutan puts an image in our head of silly apes hanging from trees eating bananas looking funny. But this no monkey business. Sadly due to deforestation and poaching their habitat has been destroyed. With nowhere to live they're dying, with a population of only 50,000. They are currently on the International Union of Conservation of Nature for endangered animals. The time for hunting to end has come. WE ARE XSTRA AND WE WILL PUT A STOP TO THIS.
